JET Programme: Application (Now Open) (Deadline: 4:00 pm, Friday, 20 November 2026)

Thank you for your interest in the JET Programme.
The application period for the 2027 JET Programme is now open. 
The application package is downloadable online or you may visit the Embassy of Japan in Jamaica (located at NCB Towers, North Tower, 6th Floor, 2 Oxford Road, Kingston 5) to collect the application form. 

All application documents must be received by the Embassy by 4:00 pm on Friday, 20 November 2026.  Please note that we will NOT accept any incomplete or late applications.  

Before contacting the Embassy, please review the Application Guidelines carefully.

*These two (2) documents are required in your application package at the time of submission if you are applying for April or Early arrival.

Supporting Documents – Letters of Reference, Transcripts, Statement of Purpose, Teaching or Language Proficiency Qualifications, etc., must be arranged in a specific order. Please refer to The 2027 JET Programme Application Guidelines and the Check List.

※ Note that documents are formatted for A4; when printing on Letter size paper, make sure that information is not cut off.  (One option to print an A4 document on Letter-sized paper, is to open the print menu, select Letter as your paper size, and choose "Fit to Printable Area" or "Shrink to Fit" under the page scaling settings.)

1  Online Information Sesssions (October 16, 22, 27 and 30)

The Embassy of Japan in Jamaica will be hosting four (4) online information sessions while the application is open. These sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams and will cover general information about the JET Programme, document compilation and common application errors, among others.

2 In-Person Office Hours (October 13, 20 and 27)

If you still have specific questions after carefully reading the Guidelines and attending an information session, limited in-person Office Hours will be held on Tuesday mornings in October at the Embassy (6th Floor, North Tower, NCB Towers, Kingston).  The office hours will be by registration only; to book a time slot please fill out this form: JET DESK Office Hours  – Fill out form. 

If, for any reasons, you need to have in-person consultations regarding the JET Programme, please make use of these Office Hours; we will not be able to accommodate visits without appointments/registrations, and you will be redirected to either online information session or the office hours. 

Please note that space/time slots are limited, so we strongly encourage reviewing all online resources first.

※ All applications need to be received at the Embassy by 4 pm, 20 November 2026,  whether you submit your application in person or by mail (including courier).
※ Please note that we DO NOT accept applications submitted electronically.  
※ Any documents submitted as part of the application will NOT be returned to you. 
※ If you plan to personally bring your applications to the Embassy, please ensure to bring your ID. 
※ Furthermore, please be mindful that being at the Embassy at 4 pm on 20 November 2026 does NOT mean successful submission of the applications.  Your application needs to have been received by the Embassy by the above deadline. We strongly encourage you to try to submit your applications early.
