Ambassador Maruyama’s Visit to the Institute of Jamaica (1 July 2026)

On July 1, Ambassador Maruyama visited the Institute of Jamaica and exchanged views with Mrs. Michele Creed-Nelson, Executive Director of the Institute, and other executive members representing the Institute as well as various Divisions, including National Gallery of Jamaica, National Museum of Jamaica, Liberty Hall, Natural History Museum of Jamaica, and Jamaica Music Museum. Discussions centered around potential ways for the J-J Partnership to further deepen through cultural exchanges by building on the existing cooperative relations between the Museums and the Embassy.Followed by the insightful discussions, Ambassador visited Natural History Museum of Jamaica, Jamaica Music Museum, and National Museum of Jamaica to gain further insights.
Ambassador Maruyama looks forward to going back to these museums and also visiting other group museums, including the National Gallery of Jamaica and the Liberty Hall, among others, to learn more about the rich history and heritage of the country.
