Ambassador Maruyama’s Courtesy Call on Hon. Matthew Samuda, Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change (27 May 2026)

　On May 27, Ambassador Maruyama paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Matthew Samuda, M.P., Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change, ahead of the Minister’s visit to Japan to attend the Island State Ocean Summit to be held in Tokyo on June 3 and 4. They exchanged views on potential bilateral cooperation in the areas of climate change and environmental policy. Ambassador Maruyama expressed his hope that the Minister’s visit to Japan would further elevate Japan-Jamaica relations and provide a valuable opportunity for dialogue with partner countries on shared global challenges.
