Ambassador’s Visit to St. Ann (12 May 2026)

 On May 12, Ambassador Maruyama visited St. Ann and met with local partners and stakeholders. He appreciated the warm welcome and hospitality extended throughout the visit.
 
1st Photo: At Edgehill School of Special Education with students. Ms. Kinoshita, a former JICA Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer, had previously taught weaving to the students. The Ambassador enjoyed viewing the students’ colourful tapestry works.
 
2nd Photo: At HEART College of Hospitality Services with Ms. Ishida, a JICA Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer, and Dr. Dyer, Principal of the College. Ms. Ishida teaches Japanese language to students preparing for careers in the tourism industry.
 
3rd Photo: At St. Ann Municipal Corporation with Mayor Michael Melnavis. Ambassador Maruyama and Mayor Melnavis exchanged views on cultural exchange and cooperation between Japan and Jamaica in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

5th Photo: Meeting with Fujitsu executives on the occasion of the company’s business event held in Ocho Rios. They exchanged views on business opportunities in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean region.
