On May 8, Ambassador Maruyama paid a courtesy call on Dr. Kevin Blake, CD, JP, psc, Commissioner of Police, and exchanged views on cooperation between Japan and Jamaica, including community-based policing.
Dr. Blake shared with Ambassador steps that are being undertaken to improve JCF’s disaster preparedness to maintain services to ensure safety of communities even during or in the aftermath of natural disasters.
The Commissioner and Ambassador also exchanged views on ways to potentially deepen the cooperation in the security area.
