On March 31, Ambassador Maruyama paid a courtesy call on The Honourable Floyd Green, MP, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Mining, and exchanged views on cooperation in the agriculture and fisheries sectors between Japan and Jamaica. During the meeting, Minister Green noted that Japan is the largest export market for Blue Mountain coffee, underscoring the strong ties between the two countries in the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Building on this, Ambassador Maruyama highlighted that Japan and Jamaica, both island nations, share many common challenges such as natural disasters, and expressed his intention to further strengthen cooperation in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors.
