Courtesy Call on Minister of Health & Wellness, Dr. The Hon. Christopher Tufton (Health Sector Cooperation) (30 March 2026)

   On March 30, Ambassador Maruyama paid a courtesy call on Dr. The Honourable Christopher Tufton, CD, MP, Minister of Health & Wellness, and exchanged views on cooperation between Japan and Jamaica in the health sector. The Minister introduced Jamaica’s primary health care reform based on a life-stage approach. In response, the Ambassador expressed Japan’s intention to further deepen cooperation by leveraging its expertise in areas such as post-disaster public health management, infectious disease control, and health promotion.
