Ambassador Maruyama’s Online Participation in “A Chat with the OAS in Preparation for the National Youth Dialogue in Jamaica on Food Security” (26 February 2026)

   On February 26, 2026, Ambassador Maruyama remotely took part in “A Chat with the OAS in Preparation for the National Youth Dialogue in Jamaica on Food Security” and gave a lecture on a theme entitled, “Japan’s journey to being considered one of the healthiest countries in the world and how it maintains food security amid recurring natural disasters.”
   As island nations vulnerable to natural disasters, Jamaica and Japan face similar challenges. Ambassador Maruyama shared Japan’s initiatives and policies on food security and expressed his hope to continue to collaborate on food security and sustainable development, contributing to building a strong society alongside the Government and people of Jamaica.
