Presentation of Copy Letters of Credence to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade by Ambassador-Designate Maruyama (17 December 2025)

 On December 17th, Ambassador-Designate Maruyama presented Copy Letters of Credence to Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
 Ambassador-Designate Maruyama expressed his condolences to the victims of Hurricane Melissa and his heartfelt sympathy to all who have been affected. He also conveyed his intention to do his utmost to further strengthen the Japan-Jamaica “J-J” Partnership, which celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations last year.
 In welcoming Ambassador-Designate, the Minister reiterated appreciation for Japan’s support for Jamaica’s recovery efforts and noted the important role of the people-to-people exchanges, including through JICA and the JET Programme, in the J-J Partnership.
