New Year's Message from Ambassador (January 2026)
2026/1/1

Happy New Year. I would like to wish you good health in the new year.
As we welcome 2026, I would like to extend my greetings.
It has been a little over a month since I arrived in Kingston. Witnessing the government’s and people’s efforts on various challenges — including post-hurricane recovery, climate change measures, economic diversification, job creation, and security — has filled me with deep respect. I pray for Jamaica's strong recovery and great achievements in the new year, including working together to address diplomatic challenges amid shifts in the international community.
Against these backdrops, I and the Embassy of Japan in Jamaica intend to engage in further dialogue and deliberation to deepen the quality of our cooperation. At the same time as we explore possibilities for expanding economic ties, we will also aim to further foster people-to-people and cultural exchanges, striving to build a multi-layered relationship. Embracing the Year of the Horse, we will draw inspiration from its power to leap forward, endurance to run long distances, focusing even more intently on our mission so that the bilateral relations can grow even more strongly together. We ask for your continued understanding and cooperation. Thank you.
