Ambassador Atsumi’s Courtesy Call on the Mayor of the Portmore City Municipality (31st July 2025)

On 31^st July, His Excellency Yasuhiro Atsumi, Ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, made a courtesy call on His Worship, Leon Thomas, Mayor of the Portmore City Municipality.  During the meeting, which was also attended by officials including the Chief Executive Officer of the Portmore Municipality Corporation, Director of Planning, and Chief Financial Officer, the Ambassador exchanged views on the overview and history of Portmore, issues related to Portmore’s transition to parish status, and the possibility of sister city relations between Portmore City and a city in Japan.
