Japan Garden Ground-breaking Ceremony on December 7th

On December 7th, Ambassador Atsumi was invited to of the Japan Garden Ground-breaking Ceremony of the Japan Garden hosted by the Committee for the Japan Garden (Chairperson: Claudia Cecile Barnes, former Ambassador to Japan) and Hope Gardens, and made remarks and planted a Pink Poui (a Jamaican tree with pink flowers similar to Sakura).
 The Ambassador said he was very pleased to be able to attend this ceremony in celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Jamaica.
Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Ambassador Sheila Sealy Monteith, and Ambassadors of China, India and Chile attended the ceremony.
