Japanese Speech Contest 2023

On June 17, the Embassy of Japan in Jamaica and the University of the West Indies (UWI) hosted the Japanese Speech Contest 2023 with the cooperation of JICA, Japan Foundation, Japanese Teachers Association in Jamaica and support from APIC. Ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, H.E. Mr. Atsumi Yasuhiro and The Honourable Fayval Williams, MP, Minister of Education and Youth were in attendance, as well as an audience of about 60 people.
Ten participants presented the results of their daily Japanese studies and delivered speeches on “My Favorite Things” (Level 1) and “The Environment and Me” (Level 2).
We would like to congratulate the winners: Mikayl Walker and Jelani Smith for Level 1 and Level 2 respectively.
