The Embassy of Japan in Jamaica hosts a Virtual Women’s Seminar

On March 8th, International Women’s Day, The Embassy of Japan held a hybrid seminar collaboration with Woman Inc. titled ‘Japan-Jamaica Women’s Virtual Seminar: Domestic Violence in Jamaica’. After Ambassador Fujiwara’s speech, Dr. Gillian Mason, lecturer at the University of the West Indies and Ms. Angela Clarke, Coordinator of the Public Education Committee at Woman Inc., shared the current DV situation in Jamaica as well as activities by Woman Inc. Also, Dr. Mariko Ogawa, Associate Professor at Tohoku University and Dr. Chisato Kitanaka spoke about support service for victims, current aids as well as women’s shelter.
