The Embassy of Japan has received inquiries regarding issues arising from the purchase of used vehicles from Japan, including concerns related to vehicle condition, repairs, and contractual obligations.
The Embassy of Japan wishes to clarify that it is not able to provide individual assistance or intervene in disputes stemming from private commercial transactions, including the purchase of used motor vehicles. Prospective buyers are strongly advised to exercise caution when purchasing used vehicles from overseas. In particular, buyers should, among others:
